It's not that costly—just around 10 euros or so. Not much more than a quality thermal paste tube. It’s meant to support the retention arm under pressure from the MB, CPU, and prevent bending. A contact frame helps avoid this issue. I’m currently using a 13600kf.

It would be ideal to adopt the standard retention system or have it as an available choice from MOBO manufacturers. This approach is clearly superior.
