Hey, I’m thinking about improving my case and motherboard for my Dell Optiplex ultra budget gaming PC. Since I’m in Ireland, finding parts can be tricky. A quick Amazon search for an LGA1151 board turned up some expensive options from AsRock and similar brands, mostly from Chinese manufacturers. Should I go for one of those or wait until I can save up for a more reputable brand?

Mobiles from Chinese brands often suffer from poor quality and can harm other parts.

Confirming compatibility with a typical ATX board? No unusual proprietary components involved.

The only proprietary part I kept was the mobile module, and I have a standard sound card power supply.

Im glad we could help. I also thought that Chinese mobos are cheaper and would be better bang for the buck, but there are many risks, and I don't want you to buy one and regret it. They will not pass the tests and safety regulations that the US has in place. <removed by staff> Edited October 14, 2024 by SansVarnic Removed content.

Initially, it makes sense to consider replacing such an outdated socket. A newer option might be more practical. Also, since you're in Ireland rather than North Korea, you can explore what's available on PCPartPicker Ireland. Chinese boards are an option, though I don't have much experience with them—just seen some intriguing models from brands like Jginyue.

通常情况下,这类东西质量不好,但在这样旧的便宜设备上,它可能还能接受。不过你更好地花钱买新全新的(或二手)设备,别把回复标记成解决方案

It's generally inaccurate, with about 99% of cases. The boards are inexpensive and of lower quality compared to top suppliers, yet they function properly without harming other components.
