It may slow down, but VR will still function at 1440p+. Lower resolutions like 1080p might cause some lag.

The performance per core remains acceptable, but the i5 architecture might pose challenges today. Four cores are insufficient these days. If you need a better upgrade, consider an i7 4770K or 4790K for more value.
