there are occasional flickering problems on your screen, especially when using Firefox and in media players like VLC or YouTube. The issue doesn’t occur during gaming or with other apps such as VLC or YouTube, making it hard to pinpoint the cause. It seems to have started after purchasing a PSU last year, possibly due to physical stress from bending the CPU cooler tower slightly while connecting the 4-pin EPS connector. Your monitor might also be involved, as your GPU shows high idle power usage compared to others with similar specs. Some users suggest HDMI incompatibility or a faulty port could be responsible, especially since your GPU’s idle consumption is much lower than expected.

The issue likely involves your GPU, monitor, or display setup, as well as the associated software and drivers.

Adjusting the CPU cooler wouldn't affect a CPU pin. If you're facing difficulties, there might be another issue.

I'll look into his brother's laptop HDMI port to see if it's a GPU or monitor. Edit: he won't be able to hand it over today, so I can't check it then.

It’s a good idea to try a fresh cable first before investing in a new GPU or monitor.
