they require an updated bio. For a third-gen model, insert it to refresh the bios. Alternatively, certain boards include a bios flash feature.

I saw reports about needing updates for some motherboards, but after buying my 5600X and the MSI X570 Tomahawk, I installed it right away and it functioned perfectly without any BIOS issues.

I updated the BIOS on my 5600x and Strix B550i. It happened on launch day, so all B550 boards are expected to ship with the latest versions now.
