Ok looks like I am forced to wait for DX12 then. OpenGL seems like a better API, why on earth don't they use it when they know it will be a better choice for that game.... omg it's so frustrating!

Unity probably lacks any compatibility with DirectX 12. The issues run beyond simply using an incorrect API.

I'm not an expert, but based on what most developers say, OpenGL in its present state is more challenging to work with and lacks thorough documentation compared to DirectX 11. In about a few years, we should see improved versions of both technologies that resolve existing problems. It would be great if OpenGL gains widespread adoption soon. A single API that works across different platforms and hardware would be ideal.
