I watched the GamersNexus video on the new i3 10100 and i5 10400, plus a test comparing RAM speeds for AMD CPUs. It looks like fast RAM really does matter for the CPU, no matter the brand. Would you think a budget motherboard—like the base model of an overclockable memory board such as the Gigabyte B450 DS3H or the Asus B450 Prime—can perform well in that way?

They might aim for around 3600 cycles, not the most precise speeds, using a Zen 2 processor, but I wouldn't anticipate anything better.

Lower-end boards offer reduced performance. The GB DS3H is extremely poor; steer clear of it.
