Earlier i noticed a subtle garlic/popcorn scent near the PC, though I wasn't cooking anything. I verified the temperatures were normal and stayed within safe ranges, even during intense gaming sessions. Can a computer emit such an odor?

Garlic and popcorn emit unique scents. However, it might just be a guess. Smelling isn't painful. New power units seem to carry a general aroma.
