I'm looking at a Ryzen 3100 and a GTX 1050 Ti setup. Since it's not an APU, can those HDMI 2.1/DP connections be used with the GPU? I want to stream 4K at 120Hz using the 2.1 ports.
I received the identical CPU but with a GTX970. I tried it out for you and haven’t seen any output from the motherboard.
It's frustrating, I truly expected at least HDMI 2.1 connectivity before needing to upgrade the graphics card.
I'm sorry, but you don't really need 120 Hz for movies, they only run at 24, or 30, sometimes 48 fps. It would have been handy only if you play games at such high fps, and neither your card, not your iGPU are capable of delivering that. So, nothing lost, really.
