You switched components from a recently purchased used PC into a new case and saw that the IO shield isn’t present. You’re curious whether it’s safe to run the system without one.

It should work without any problems. Your server isn’t requiring anything to be installed, and there are no issues reported. It offers additional protection, but you’re good to go if you don’t need it.

It's intended for appearance and port identification purposes only. No complications expected if you don't possess one.

It's mainly designed for EFI protection, keeping intruders out while confirming connections are safe. Port identification adds extra value but isn't essential. It works well when omitted, though it slightly increases the chance of bugs entering and causing shorts.

It’s probably okay. To stop bugs or small animals from entering, you can create a barrier. I used art foam with aluminum tape before.

Smaller bugs always manage to adapt. I've even heard about cockroaches in laptops. Vent holes in cases are becoming larger, but overall it's mainly about EFI shielding and stopping dust from entering through fingers or reducing means.

Do you have the motherboard ready? You could also use the IO shield from the previous case.

I noticed the MOBO was grounded on YouTube, which made me concerned about a potential short circuit if it wasn’t properly handled. I’m still getting familiar with PC components.
