Last week I began noticing significant packet loss in online games and Discord, with occasional spikes or longer outages. I planned to contact my ISP for a line test, but the router seemed faulty. My Echolife HG520b came free with my subscription and has been running for 2–3 years. Before the issues started, I couldn’t reach http://192.168.1.1; accessing it usually required resetting the router or it would restart on its own. Should I reach out to my ISP or replace the router? It seems like a failing device rather than a service problem.
sounds more like a bad router truthfully... especially if you cant access the GUI page. Take and plug in directly to your modem only and test through that to see.
In 2 to 3 years, it might simply be the PSU preparing to leave.
