Checking if 50-60+ mods in Fallout 3 trigger a BSOD or cause a crash is a common concern.

It was clear that both scenarios were possible. If the GPU struggles with excessive load, it might trigger a BSOD or crash the game.

It might have shown an error message. Was it a single occurrence or repeated?

Various factors can lead to a BSOD in games. I've experienced Minecraft crashes due to shader packs. Generally, the game stops working but adding mods increases instability risk. When you see a blue screen, check which mod is causing the issue and remove it—it should resolve the problem.

Never experienced a mod trigger a BSOD, only CTD or freezing issues. I've installed more than 200 mods for Skyrim at once. If you encounter a BSOD, it's probably due to memory problems or another issue.

It occurred just once, during a game of Fallout 3 and while watching a Netflix series.

I doubt there's a "magic number" of mods that will crash the game. But if there's an error, improper installation, incompatibility, or corrupted file somewhere, absolutely. When you're using 50-60 mods, there's a lot of chances for that stuff to happen.

The mods don't cause crashes when using an overclocked GPU or CPU. Running a game or benchmark on such hardware works fine, which helps determine if your overclock is stable.
