The clock speeds for my current DDR4 3000 MHz RAM are 16, and the same applies to the 3200 MHz version I was considering. I’m also thinking about making it future-proof if I decide to upgrade to a Ryzen 2600 later. I’m building my ideal PC right now.

3200-3600Mhz usually delivers optimal results with minimal adjustments. Using a CL14 chip at 3200Mhz performs similarly to a 3600Mhz model at CL16. Upgrading the CL16 kit to 3600Mhz via XMP timing and slightly increasing voltage could be an effective approach. Aim for the ideal mix of speed and timing precision.

3000MHz is sufficient, the next level is 3600MHz. You might also manage to boost your setup further regardless.

16 18 18 38? That’s a bit too relaxed for 3000MHz, you won’t unlock the full power of the R5 3600 in games with this setup—but it shouldn’t be too much trouble... it really depends on your refresh rate goal. Aiming for 60Hz and probably 75Hz would work well, but pushing to 100Hz+ might leave you missing those extra frames a better memory setup could provide.

I’d prefer a model like the one listed on Newegg—16GB, 288-pin DDR4, 4GB RAM. At 3200Mhz it’s already solid, but pushing to 3600Mhz would likely land you around CL18. If you disable Gear Down Mode, you might get better stability, though it would need careful tuning since gear down aids memory initialization.
