Activate xmp and lower it to around 3000 ish. I believe the most dependable method for getting over 3600 on these chips is through micron rev e/j form, which is typical on micron/crucial OEM green PCBs. I’ve only heard about that from someone who achieved a world record on Zen+ with a 2700x, but I don’t have much hands-on experience with Zen+ yet. Apart from that, I’m not familiar with the 3000g setting.

When comparing DDR4-3600 and DDR4-3200 kits, opt for the 3600 model if it's more affordable. In rare situations, enabling XMP and manually setting the speed to 3200 could help. The 3600 kit offers advantages only in specific cases. Upgrading later to a Zen 3 CPU should work seamlessly with it.

Could simply be a supply and demand thing. Maybe it's been sitting on shelves and they want to clear inventory, maybe the other one is more in demand, so they're trying to benefit by raising its price. Other than speed, there's also latency (3600 MT/s CL18 v 3200 MT/s CL16). In general lower CL number is better, but: it depends on the frequency. 3600 CL18 is effectively equivalent to 3200 CL16 in terms of latency (both translate to 10 nanoseconds), while 3600 CL16 would be better than 3200 CL16 (and as a result likely more expensive) Could turn this into a perception thing. People see CL18 think it's automatically worse than CL16, and as a result the RAM isn't sought after, hence they drop the price to make it not sit on the shelf indefinitely.

Discard the Vengeance sticks! Devices featuring our kind of hardware tend to dislike vengeance sticks... and they really do, especially with AMD parts from this generation and Corsair. This problem has been thoroughly discussed many times before, and there are simply too many conflicting threads over the years. It’s just a repeat of the same situation. Switching to G. Skill would have been a better choice for compatibility, and you’d have experienced a straightforward "plug and play" setup without all the complications. A while back I purchased a set (https://www.newegg.com/crucial-pro-64gb-...6820156327) and it performed excellently with my R5 2600 and MSI B450 Pro Max II board. Unfortunately, these are currently out of stock, likely for good, but I’m relieved I moved on from them then. With the current hardware you’re in, speed isn’t the main concern—having enough RAM matters more—but speed is still nice if possible. It even allows compatibility with newer DDR4 systems or future upgrades as long as they remain compatible.

The real question is whether it’s worth it—though you can definitely reach it, I’m not sure if you’ll notice any real improvement. Admitting you could hit that speed is true, but going from 3200 to 3600 can cause instability, and finding the right timings isn’t easy.
