Hello! Before installing your new components, check your system's BIOS version. If it's outdated, updating it is usually safe and recommended. Flashing the BIOS can sometimes cause issues, but modern BIOS updates are designed to handle this. Skipping the update might not harm your parts, but it could affect compatibility or performance. Always back up your settings before making changes.

The motherboard manufacturer might be aware of the current BIOS version installed. The 5900x works with versions 7C91vA4 or later. You can update the BIOS using USB flashback without accessing it directly by following the steps in the manual under Updating BIOS with Flash BIOS Button. Keep the computer running and avoid interruptions during the flashing process. For more details, see the support page at https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/MAG-B550...pport#bios or download the guide from https://download.msi.com/archive/mnu_exe...MAHAWK.pdf. Changing the BIOS can improve performance, stability, and security, though a failed flash might damage the board.

Assemble the computer and check for startup. Likely, if you're replacing the motherboard, it should function properly. No. Occasionally BIOS flashback problems arise, though these are rare.

Ensure your system is up to date. Before changing the CPU, refresh the BIOS using a USB drive—it’s straightforward. A fresh BIOS remains compatible with older CPUs, giving you peace of mind.
