Year gaming experiences: 2015
I checked which games came out this year for PC and wanted to know what stood out positively and what didn’t. For me, GTA 5 was a solid choice (thanks Rockstar), though Fallout 4 left me feeling let down with an updated version of Fallout 3 instead of the original. I found Fallout 4 disappointing, especially since the main story revolved around dad and son. Regarding Battlefield 2042, I wasn’t impressed by the changes made to the character system—it introduced some balance issues.
I really liked GTA 5 and Witcher 3, which I was eager to experience and they lived up to expectations. It makes sense why some found Fallout 4 underwhelming, but I wasn’t in the rush so I still had a good time. I enjoyed games like Rocket League, which I was unfamiliar with at first but turned out to be quite enjoyable. What felt okay was Batman, though—I had to finish the earlier titles but might have picked them up later. Still, there were some issues I heard about, which is frustrating because so many people complain. It would be nice if more Batman games came out for PC. I also tried VR with the Oculus at an event; it was a mixed experience because the demo game wasn’t great, but trying VR for the first time was fun and I’d like to explore more with better titles!
- Finally bought Bioshock Infinite - great, unique story with an awesome art style and an amazing setting, boring gameplay, awesome ending though. - Surprised by Rocket League - this game blew up fast and heck even the servers got overloaded and crashed. And rightfully so, because this game is SO fun(and frustrating) and like nothing I ever played before and I hate sports games - Just Cause 3 - like jc2, just more over the top with new toys - The overhyped Fallout 4 - good game, expected better but i did overhype it, though it still could be better, but still offered me a lot of hours of entertainment - Treyarch's try at a future warfare COD game: Black Ops 3 - I played several CODs but only owned MW2 which I put a bit more than 400 hrs into. BO3 is my first COD game on PC and first COD game I bought since MW2. I'm addcited to COD again, already have 48 hours on it and I bought it the 23rd. Campaign is crap, zombies are cool I guess but not my thing, MP is really fun but has a lot of OP BS in it. Still a really fun game - The amazing Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons - hearing TotalBiscuit say this is his favorite game of all time, I just had to try it. Only 3 hours long, but damn it is one of the best singleplayer experiences I have ever played period! A must buy imo! there are more games I played but these stand out the most to me.
