XV252QF continuously loops at 240Hz
Hi everyone, I just got my Acer Nitro XV252QF (390Hz monitor) but haven't been able to get the 390Hz or even 300Hz+ to function properly on my PC. I've been trying different things for a while now, but it's confusing and I need some guidance. Whenever I pick a frequency above 240Hz—like 300, 360, or 390—I can switch to a game or even the start menu and the refresh rate drops back down to 240Hz. Note: I'm using a DisplayPort cable. What I've tried so far includes running DDU for a clean GPU driver install, updating my BIOS, and switching to a higher-quality DP cable (Club 3D). However, the monitor still goes black briefly every few seconds. When I connected it to my brother's PC with identical settings, it worked perfectly: 9700K + RTX 2080. I also tried swapping his GPU into mine, but that didn't help either. What might be causing this issue? My system details are 5900x with RTX 3080 Ti, OS is Windows 11, and the Nvidia driver is 516.94. Thanks in advance!
