XP celebrates its 13th anniversary.
The deadline is near. Windows XP is reaching its 13th anniversary. There are numerous ways to mark this milestone, and I plan to install Windows XP Home for a short time. The main goal here is to encourage others to switch their desktop backgrounds to the classic Windows Bliss wallpaper, celebrating this moment no matter which OS they use. Please share a screenshot of your current Bliss desktop, along with a photo of your preferred XP memory or something you love about it. Let’s demonstrate to Microsoft that even after support ends, we still honor this legacy. I’ll always recall having my Dell Optiplex GX280 running Windows XP, a Pentium 4 2.8GHz, 3GB DDR2 RAM, and an 80GB HDD. One day I was playing Call of Duty 2 when my computer blue-screened and wouldn’t start due to overheating warnings. After opening the case, I discovered two of the four CPU heat pipes had melted. My favorite XP features were Outlook Express and the Start menu, which perfectly fit the interface with its two-column layout.
Brings to mind the 1.8ghz single-core Intel Pentium laptop I owned, equipped with 2GB RAM and an ATI mobility card. It feels odd for Jodomcfrodo to be using XP on his setup.
