translation: CPU's memory controller doesn't have infinite speed it can handle on the RAM, but RAM can clock faster than CPU's mem-controller can handle, by default the CPU is the main deciding factor, when it comes to handling RAM speed, unless there's some incompatibility between RAM and MB: support means guaranteed success after OC, 4600Mhz is significantly higher than 3200Mhz

1:1 fclk typically ranges from 3800 to 4000 on Zen 2/3 CPUs, while Zen 2 APUs usually sit between 4400 and 4600. The max supported speed on the motherboard doesn’t always reflect real performance. The Giga B550 excels in memory performance, especially when paired with the B550 steel legend. Just check other users’ reviews for accurate board memory specs. Even with desync fclk, you can’t just assume a sudden jump to 8000—practical limits are higher. My tests show the X58 uncore limit is effectively nonexistent; I’m not using cheap boards that force high uncore ratios. So the top end is around 1:1 and 5:4 for uncore at 1.94v, while the W3680 should handle about 4000 at 1.55-1.6v. In reality, I’ve only reached ~3400 on the W3503, and the W3680 can reach ~4000 with stable 3000+ at 3282 tri-channel under certain conditions. Most Zen 2/3 boards can push past 5000 for stability if you run them carefully, but aiming for 6000 or 8000 in real-world use is unlikely.

RAM ICS remain consistent regardless of the heat spreader, though some faulty XMP profiles—like those found in certain Corsairs DDR4 models—may cause problems.
