I need urgent assistance. My setup includes an Intel i7 13700k, MSI Z690 PRO-A DDR4 32GB, Corsair Vengeance 3600 CL16, Corsair IUE 150i 1TB M.2 NVMe 1TB SSD, Samsung 4080 ASUS TUF 850W PSU, and a Windows installation from a cloud source after a faulty Rufus setup. The BIOS is set to XMP 3600, but the PC freezes immediately after startup and only becomes unstable during crashes. Changing the XMP profile to 3200 resolves the issue. I’m unsure why this happens or if the CPU can safely overclock to 3600. This is my first PC build—any advice would be greatly appreciated.
This particular RAM only works up to 3200 MHz according to MSI's documentation.
For quicker performance, this RAM can operate at speeds up to 4800MHz https://www.newegg.com/p/0RN-001J-010E7
The Corsair feature works only until 3200, while the linked version supports up to 4800. I didn’t understand why Corsair wasn’t included in the earlier list.
MSI details are available on the supported RAM page linked. In summary, compatibility, clock speeds, lanes, memory storage and processing are covered. The board quality is solid; you can explore more if needed, but for now stick with the Manf specs and choose a "known compatible" RAM. For deeper memory knowledge, watch this video: https://youtu.be/tySToFdLV2g. Just note it goes into more detail than most people need. The RAM I mentioned is likely 1DPC - 1R - 4800, which could run up to 5133 MHz, though the MSI standard confirms 4800 is stable.
