XMP problems, B450 Gold Elite - R5 2600X, GTX 1060 with 6GB RAM, BALLISTIX 16GB DDR4 3000
Hi, I've been using my build for more than a year and XMP hasn't resolved the problem from the start. I've tried everything—software updates, manual clocking, voltage tweaks. Recently in March I replaced the RAM to see if that would help. Initially I had Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro at 3200MHz CL16 16GB, but the 2600x maxed out at 2900MHz with that RAM, so I downgraded. I've installed the latest BIOS (F60C) and used a timing calculator and DRAM calculator to set safe values. After adjusting manually, the same issue persisted. I ran a memory check and everything looked normal. I tested all four RAM slots, including using only one stick in slots 1, 3, 2, and 4. The PC boots and runs without XMP or any issues. It restarts with three beeps when speed or voltage changes, indicating a memory problem. There are no error lights on the motherboard when it's not running XMP. I have my PC specs here for reference. I think there might be an issue with the QVL compatibility... such occurrences are rare, though possible; do you have other types of RAM available?
It seems you're considering Gigabyte for this purchase. It's important to note that chipset or CPU compatibility isn't guaranteed across all manufacturers.
