Hello, I’m really proud of my PC build, but it doesn’t seem to use the built-in OC Genie or XMP profiles.
I’m using:
- MSI X299 SLI Plus motherboard
- Intel i7 7820X processor
- Crucial Balistix Elite DDR4 3200 RAM
- One AMD Radeon RX580 graphics card
- NZXT Kraken X62 liquid cooler set
- Samsung 960 Pro 500GB M.2 SSD (OS)
- Samsung 850 Evo 250GB SSD (data)
- WD Raptor 1TB HD (storage)
- Samsung DVD burner drive
- Corsair case with Seasonic 1300w PSU
- 3-120mm and 1-140mm case fans; the cooler includes two big fans at the top.
I’ve got the newest BIOS and drivers from MSI.
I’m planning a gentle overclock to push the RAM closer to its advertised 3200 MHz, but neither the BIOS OC Genie nor the XMP profile are launching the system. I recall they worked before, though after numerous Windows 10 and driver updates, they stopped responding.
I understand this is uncertain, and I’d really appreciate any advice from others who might have similar setups and found a solution.
Any guidance would mean a lot!
Peace!

I have a build that's quite similar to yours (refer to the PC Partpicker link in the sig).
I believe it relates to the recent Windows update. For some time now, I've been running my 3466mhz kit at 4000 MHz and it has remained stable after testing with Memtest86, Prime95 for six hours, and four different 8-hour Asus Realbench sessions.
In the past two to three days, whenever I turned on the PC in the morning, a repair message appeared after the BIOS screen. After that, I would restart the system, bypass Windows login, then perform a system file check followed by a checkdisk scan—both without any issues.
Currently, I'm using the XMP profile and haven't encountered any problems yet, though I just changed it this morning. It could happen again tomorrow morning when I power on.

After several Windows 10 updates and driver patches, they both stopped working.

Any guidance would mean a lot!

Sure, just let me know how you usually verify your system files.
