Hello, welcome to the forums! I just got an Alienware R11 with an I9 10900kf, two 2080ti graphics cards, and 16GB of Hyper X Fury 3200MHz XMP RAM. My goal was to buy from Amazon or Newegg instead of Dell to avoid spending $300. Initially, I turned on XMP for my single-channel 16GB RAM, and everything worked perfectly. Later, I added another RAM stick with the same specs, but the XMP slot in the UEFI is now grayed out, showing 32GB memory and 2400MHz. Support mentioned I can't enable XMP on dual channels, though they seemed uncertain and used a lot of "I think" during the discussion. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Three sticks suggest you're using a single channel, halving your bandwidth. Visit the SPD tab to see available profiles for this chip. Wipe the CMOS. Test the new stick or kit separately and verify XMP functionality.
@TofuHaroto Alright, I'll try that. @AntiTrust Unfortunately, The ram i got from dell doesn't have a model number on it. Just 16GB 2Rx8 XMP4-3200-ub1-11. and a MEI number and some other numbers (probably a date of manufacturing) My other stick is HX432C16FB3/16
When examining your capture, you'll notice significant differences in timing between devices. The XMP profiles don't align across both sticks, which is why enabling it isn't possible. You should aim for identical specifications—preferably the same part number listed on the sticker. It might be simpler to purchase a replacement unit and discard the original one.
