Hey there! I noticed your RAM issue and went ahead with the new Corsair kit. When you turned on XMP, the CPU would spike to full speed right away. On your 3080 i9-10900K setup, formatting for Windows 10 and then 11 didn’t change much. You mentioned the same performance drop when XMP was off—could be a faulty CPU or memory module. For upgrades, consider checking the motherboard manual or reaching out to Corsair support—they might have compatible replacements.

I haven’t done it before. I’ll need to remove everything to reach it on my MOBO, but I’m planning to test it quickly—just spend about five minutes and then put it back.

When working at A2 and B2 levels, for testing purposes you might assign them A1 and B1. Clearing CMOS becomes quicker by linking two pins using a metal tool, such as a screwdriver.

I restored the CMOS and everything seems to be functioning properly now. The PC displays 64GB of RAM, which is great. If the issue returns, consider updating the CPU and BIOS.

Both your CPU and motherboard perform similarly—no significant upgrade route exists, only a replacement option for both. Note: If the issue persists, try loading the default BIOS settings or resetting the CMOS again. It shouldn’t occur.
