XMP issue? Let's troubleshoot together.
Hello everyone, I encountered an issue. In CPU-Z my RAM appears slower at 2133MHz compared to the expected 3200MHz for a 8GB kit with XMP and DRAM profile enabled. BIOS speed stayed at 2133MHz and CPU-Z also showed the same. I tried enabling XMP, disabling DRAM profile, and vice versa without success. Then I set speed manually to 3200MHz but the system would crash at startup. 3000MHz works normally. Is there a limit on RAM speed with B450/R7 2700X? I’m not sure about the QVL difference, but BIOS seems to handle everything without problems. My setup includes ASRock Steel Legend B450M, AMD R7 2700X, 8GB RAM, Corsair Vengeance LPX, and a 750W PSU for Windows 10. Thank you!
Place the RAM in slots 2 and 4. Activate XMP while setting frequency to 3200 and voltage to 1.35. If issues persist, use 3000 with frequency 3000 and voltage 1.35. If it still fails, keep it at 3000 and proceed accordingly. The 2000 series Ryzen memory controller tends to struggle with 3200.
