Trying to understand my initial setup. I encountered trouble activating XMP in BIOS. After saving and restarting outside BIOS, I see a safe start prompt asking me to return or enable settings. If I reach the sign-in screen, the system freezes. My hardware specs are Windows 11 with an Intel i7 13700F CPU, 4060 Ti GPU, and ASUS Prime B760M-A motherboard. RAM is Corsair Vengeance 16x2 DDR5 at 6000Mhz, which ASUS confirms is compatible. Enabling XMP automatically sets the frequency to 6000Mhz and matches the RAM timings. I’m only changing XMP, not other settings. The Task Manager shows 4800Mhz instead. All drivers are current. Someone could clarify this for me.

Check the motherboard for the RAM slots and ensure the sticks are securely connected.

Your processor doesn't work with 6000MHz DDR5 memory; it only handles DDR5 at 5600MHz, which is why it keeps freezing when you turn on XMP.

That should work, I didn’t consider the CPU speed match. Turning on BIOS and adjusting it to 5600Mhz seems feasible.

I understand this point but typically Intel CPU models are quite strict unless configured for specific requirements. I’d just set it to 5600MHz to test, and if that works, he can explore other options like updating the BIOS.

Verify the QVL settings are correct. Are you referring to the QVL? Yes, it's CPU independent—so 9000 can run on a QVL even with just two CPUs. I’d also expect a 13700F to handle a light overclock, like 6000.
