XMP fails to function
I received a new PC recently and after setting it up, I noticed a problem with the XMP profile. The components I have include Corsair LPX vengeance 3600 CL20, A B450 aorus Elite, and an AMD 3600. There are no known issues reported for this setup, but I’d like some advice or tips. I’m currently running at DDR4 base clock: 2133 MHz.
Be aware that most motherboards treat 2666MHz as an overclock attempt, so results can differ. Just because a RAM package claims 3000MHz doesn’t guarantee reliability. If XMP/DOCP isn’t supported, you might need to manually tweak the DRAM speed and voltage. OR, you can try boosting performance further. For instance, I increased my 3200MHz RAM to 3466MHz at 1.3750V and fine-tuned the timings.
Open BIOS, turn off XMP, navigate to advanced settings, then use AI tweaker. Adjust memory frequency in small steps—starting from 3000MHz up to 3066MHz, then modify DRAM voltage to 1.3500V. Save and exit. If this doesn’t work, a boot loop will occur and the system resets to defaults, indicating unstable OC.
After saving, run a stress test in Windows—Cinebench R15 is preferable for speed. If stable, restart and return to BIOS. Remember, stability during testing isn’t the same as real-world gaming performance. Windows error codes about memory will signal instability.
If issues persist, increment voltage in 0.010V steps (e.g., 1.3600V → 1.3700V → ...) until you find a stable point. Avoid going beyond 1.450V. Once at 3066MHz it works, then you can push further to 3133MHz, 3200MHz, etc., testing each time for consistency. This process may eventually hit a limit. For me, the last stable speed was around 3466MHz at 1.3750V, but even at 3533MHz with 1.450V it wasn’t reliable. Mileage can differ significantly.
AMD uses DOCP in the BIOS rather than XMP, so enable it if needed

Thanks for the note. My motherboard was soldered with Memory: 4 x DIMM, max 64 GB DDR4 3600(O.C.)/3466(O.C.)/3200(O.C.)/2933/2666/2400/2133 MHz, non-ECC, un-buffered. It means I just need to take the timing and voltage values from my XMP profile and apply them manually.
