Pushing too far can cause instability and crashes. You'll need to lower the settings and retry. The 5600MHz should appear as an XMP profile in your motherboard BIOS. For instance, my 3200MHz DDR4 is adjusted down in the BIOS. I choose the setting and proceed. Most RAMs support this feature, automatically detecting and applying main specifications. When you want to further optimize or tweak, manual selection becomes necessary.

XMP handles overclocking smoothly, but manual adjustments can cause issues. This suggests that when you enable XMP, it considers RAM, CPU memory, and motherboard settings to build a stable 'overclocked' profile. Let me know if you need more details!

Yes, but the motherboard isn't the only factor. For instance, an AMD 1600 might work on a Ryzen 3600 but not the 1600, while the 12700k is high-end for Intel and should run smoothly with default settings.
