Hello everyone! I just noticed the DDR5 RAM (KF560C32RSA-16) I ordered for my Asus TUF B650 - Plus doesn’t support EXPO. It seems the product page showed both XPS and EXPO compatibility, but there was a section listing only certain models that work with EXPO. Since it hasn’t arrived yet, I’m worried about testing it if I receive it and might have to return it. Could this affect my motherboard, Ryzen 7700x, or the overall performance of this setup?

It's not on the list but the Ram I ordered for a second PC, the F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5N by G.Skill is not either and this is an EXPO ram which is advertised from AM5 platforms... Does this mean that neither of those ram sets can work with this motherboard?

These animals were evaluated, making it a wise choice to purchase from this selection, though they generally perform well with minimal issues.

They only include items they tested, but that doesn't guarantee functionality. I discovered a site called pangoly that lists compatible RAM for certain boards, and it seems both Kingston and G.skills models are listed there. I'm unsure if it's trustworthy. Regarding XPM, whether a RAM is XMP-only affects compatibility—XMP RAM works with Intel but not necessarily AMD without issues. I chose this model because of its 6K MHz speed, which suits Ryzen 7000 and offers low latency at 32 CAS. Certified EXPO RAM starts at 36 CAS latency.

The website is genuine, though many PC building sites focus on checking physical dimensions and other practical details. If the EXPO isn't functioning, you might be able to manually adjust the overclocking settings.

It doesn't matter if sizes match; compatibility depends on other factors. A tall DDR5 module won't fit just because it's long, but it could block the CPU cooler. When you talk about manual overclocking, it means if the XMP profile isn't available, the RAM will run at normal speeds and you'll need to adjust settings yourself to achieve the desired performance.

XMP is offered by Intel at EXPO and also appears on AMD. Your AMD BIOS can handle both types. There’s no single “best” frequency or CAS for AMD5—reviewers suggest 6000 CAS 30 works well. XPO memory should ideally match these settings, but it doesn’t automatically optimize itself. If you purchase XMP memory labeled as “ideal,” it may perform optimally about 99.99% of the time. Just verify the XMP value in your BIOS. There are many OC RAM options for Intel, but not all will work or help with AMD systems. Avoid buying a 64 GB DDR5 7800 module unless it’s confirmed compatible; it won’t necessarily boost performance or run at full speed under XMP. Edited February 12, 2023 by mdk777 clarity

It sounds like you're confirming the compatibility of the g.skill RAM with your system. Once installed, you should verify in the BIOS whether the motherboard recognizes the XMP profile accurately and matches the advertised timings. If not, you may need to adjust them manually. That’s correct!

The likelihood of manual intervention is extremely low. It might be sufficient to simply verify the pull-down for "USE XMP," after which the system will reliably apply those configurations.
