So I've now bought 3 different sets of thermal pads to put on my vram, and they all have been too thick. I've gone as low as 0.5mm and it still is preventing good contact with the gpu die. I said screw it and just used thermal paste, overcompensating a little bit to fill in the slight gap that is actually there. My only worry is that I used a little too much and don't want to insulate the chips. I have no way of knowing their temps as there is no sensor on this model. My question is basically, is it safe to use thermal paste on vram when the clearance to the heatsink is <0.5mm?
