This CPU is a solid choice for general tasks and light workloads. It’s not powerful enough for heavy gaming or demanding applications, but it should handle everyday use well.

Yes, my two Xeon e5-2690 units remain fairly solid for gaming and online classes.

I recommend a Core i3 or Core i5 processor unless you already possess a graphics card.

Excellent CPU, mainly an i5 with slight overclocking potential due to its classification. You should transition to Linux after October 2025 since Windows 10 reaches end-of-life, though it will still function as a Linux system.

Thanks to everyone, I haven’t touched Windows anymore. I’m currently running Linux Mint after the end of Windows 7.

Penguin OS shines bright as the penguin flies, but that PC will stay running until it stops completely because Linux keeps evolving no matter what hardware you own.

Absolutely, I get it. I own an Intel Atom 64x2 and run a lightweight Linux distribution.
