You're looking for a board that supports dual socket overclocking, similar to the SR2. It seems you want something more recent than the 2011 model, as it offers better performance.
I might consider it. They mentioned it twice, so perhaps I should hold my tongue and opt for the pricier choice. What about the 2011 overclocking?
You're facing limitations with dual 2011 systems. I'd recommend thinking about a more recent setup, such as Ryzen. What are your objectives for this machine? Are you looking to upgrade? Is there a specific budget in mind?
Which chassis are you using? Which board are you examining? How are you applying this system?
I prefer more than a few cores for rendering and transcoding. This lets me use a 16-20 system instead of spending $1000-$1200.
These are quite outdated components, so a modern Ryzen with 6 or 8 cores would perform better at a similar cost. I’m unlikely to use such setups anymore. As for software and graphics, switching to something more current would likely improve things.
Supermicro X9DRi-F paired with a budget Rosewill RSV-L4000C "crypto" case. Design files, rendering, and conversion ready.
If you have the board, better grab the chips, though I’d still advise avoiding these older platforms if possible.
