It's not listed on the official supported CPUs, though they often fit gaming motherboards (especially with Haswell and older models). As long as the CPU matches the board's socket, it should work. If you don’t already have one or are purchasing them cheaply, I wouldn’t recommend it. A significant speed boost usually doesn’t justify the extra cost.

Certainly! Here’s a better option within your budget: 80USD max.

You should check local listings carefully and aim for a budget-friendly approach. With an $80 budget, you’ll likely need to choose inexpensive components, though a 6600k and Z170 board could work. A first-generation Ryzen setup makes sense because it allows future upgrades to better CPUs later. I’ve noticed complete prebuilt units with 3770s (matching Xeon speeds) priced around $80, just install and set up the operating system. Avoid eBay for this kind of purchase. The cheap hardware available here is quite limited. This should be seen as a last option since buying new is usually more cost-effective. I strongly recommend saving a bit extra—$80 is extremely tight. A used A520 board for $30 and a brand new R3 4100 for $130 will give you over double the performance of what you can find for $100 used. Adding $20–50 will significantly improve reliability and longevity, especially if you’re planning a system that might last over a year before any part fails. The bundles you get for under $80 are often unreliable, so consider spending a little more upfront.

For your situation, it's wise to set aside up to $200. This way, you avoid needing to replace the system quickly if you want it to run recent games. You'll save money over time by being more patient from the beginning.
