Xeon E3-1230 V2 with H67 chipset configuration
I’m considering building a mini-ITX system for fun and noticed the E3-1230 V2 is available. It’s a solid processor, but my current board only supports the GA-H67N with USB3-B3. The E3-1230 is technically compatible, though I’m unsure if it will work reliably. It’s a decent option, but I’m worried about compatibility risks. Any advice or insights would be appreciated!
BS. My Xeon 1230 V2 is installed on a Gigabyte H61N-USB3 motherboard and it functioned perfectly without any issues. However, the Xeon model isn't listed in the supported CPU directory. If it does support 3770, I think it would accommodate Xeon as well.
I'll check the details in a few days. I'm planning to assemble a full server PC with that Xeon: SUPERMICRO X9SCA-F Intel® Xeon® Processor E3-1230 v2, 8 GB SSD (two 4 GB units), a 64 GB Seagate 2 TB DVD-RW 500W power supply, and it won't have redundant components. At around 250€, that's a reasonable price if the CPU doesn't work on the mini-ITX board, I can still add a GPU and sell it.
