Xbox One X switches on and off within five seconds
In summary, I’ve noticed my Xbox One X powers on and off within five seconds. After plugging it in and pressing the button, it only makes a short beep. Repeated attempts show it briefly lights up before shutting down again. I suspect the power supply fan might not be receiving enough power, possibly causing overheating, though the processor seems cool. After replacing thermal paste, pads, and installing an SSD for speed, the issue persists. I’m unsure what caused it, but I’m considering a software glitch. Thanks to everyone who helped resolve this.
The screws should fit well once reassembled. I recall possibly a year ago using the x clamps, which were difficult to open, but it functioned properly then. I suspect the problem might be software-related. The target offers a great deal on a series S for 200 dollars, so if this fails, I’ll have a solid alternative plan.
I have a 240gb SSD that I haven't used. It might be worth testing it out to see how it performs. I connected the external drive, which powers it up. Then I inserted a disc, and it spun briefly before shutting down.
I removed all components from the Xbox, picked up the motherboard power button board and power supply, and attempted to power it on. The CPU area felt extremely hot, especially since there was no heat sink installed. It seems the device was indeed very hot at startup.
