Hi, I’m here to clarify why Xbox Game Pass restricts launching certain games from a second drive (DSmile but works when you access them through the Xbox app on your Windows installation drive (CSmile. You’re experiencing problems with Forza Horizon 5, Sea of Thieves, and Black Ops 6. You’re using Windows 11 with two drives—1TB SSD Sandisk and 1TB SSD Western Digital.

It's not surprising the Windows Store behaves in such odd ways. I stopped using Gamepass because Microsoft restricted changes to game files, which was needed to fix a known issue. It's possible those titles rely on overly strict DRM and are set up to run only from the OS drive.

Thanks for your message. I understand you're looking into DRM solutions. A few years ago, I installed Sea of Thieves on a secondary drive and it functioned well. Now, considering upgrading to a larger drive or merging them could be options worth exploring.

The symbolic link from the C drive to another drive fails when using the mklink command.

Hello, thank you for your feedback. This approach hasn't come up before, so I'm open to testing it. I'll keep you updated if it proves effective later.

Tried using the Symlinks method, but I’m not sure how to apply the Xbox Game Pass to the new target path. I’ve watched some videos but am still having trouble.

The game was first added via the Xbox app, and the installation folder or drive isn’t listed among the available options. It seems the game shows up in the app but doesn’t launch directly from there.

The installation occurred via the Xbox app, and the drive was provided. The game starts but displays a standard error message. It seems the anticheat system wasn't activated during installation on the secondary drive, preventing the game from launching.
