Hi, I'm also confused about this situation. Initially, I encountered a 4D error on the MBD, which usually prompts an RMA for memory issues. After testing with a different RAM setup, the problem persisted—even though the RAM post and VRAMP post errors disappeared. They checked my board, found a misaligned CPU pin, and it resolved after repair. However, when I received my board back, the error still appears. I'm considering an RMA for the RAM but it seems to work fine on testing. Any advice or next steps would be appreciated.

X870E refers to a chipset, not a motherboard. If you need assistance with this issue, the best approach is to return the CPU rather than the RAM.

The issue might be related to VRAM or memory lanes on the CPU, especially since it's an AMD 5 series chip. The post seems focused on RAM rather than the CPU itself.

Ensure the RAM is correctly installed alongside the GPU. Verify all connections on the PSU and motherboard. Confirm your RAM appears in the motherboard's QVL list for compatibility. Consider updating the BIOS and allow time for memory training. The 4D error is linked to RAM and memory setup issues.

Memory controller is built into the CPU. No follow-up needed because RAM also raises suspicion. I used a 5800X during a YouTube session, which triggered the RAM error LED on the motherboard when I powered it up. Replacing the CPU with my original model would resolve the issue immediately. QVLs are unnecessary—don’t spend time searching for your RAM without trying. It doesn’t matter if you have it or not.
