x86 and x64
x86 and x64
The X99 chipset is launching alongside Wellsburg, while Haswell-E is another option.
It's possible I missed information. You might want to confirm the location details. I assumed Haswell-E/Devils Canyon was Z97, but that could be incorrect.
oh so the x99 chipset is codenamed Wellsburg? That was the disconnect. Thanks
There are various CPUs available, including those supporting the 8086 architecture and offering 16, 32, or 64-bit buses in the future. x86-32 (also known as IA-32 or i386) refers to x86 processors with a 32-bit extension. Although some refer to it simply as x86, this isn't entirely accurate. amd64 (often called x86-64, Intel 64 or x64) are x86 processors equipped with a 64-bit extension. All amd64 chips can run backward on x86-32 models.
On Linux, you can access the 64-bit RAM expansion via the 32-bit PAE feature in the kernel. Many applications remain compatible with 32-bit PAE even when using x64 systems.
