Hello everyone, I just noticed the new Asus Prime X570-Pro and Ryzen 9 3900X have a different CPU setup—only four pins instead of the usual eight. My concern is whether I need a separate four-pin connector and if so, what it would be for. Also, I’m wondering if I should look for an extra cable since my Corsair RM850x doesn’t support that connection. Thanks for your assistance!

It's not essential. It provides additional capacity when the CPU exceeds 384 watts, though such high power use would be extremely difficult to manage without advanced cooling methods like liquid nitrogen. Most users won't require it.

I received your RM1000x and found a bag inside the box packed with various cables. Did yours include a similar bag? If not, reach out to Corsair and inform them about the missing cables. I understand you have unused cables but are certain you have them. Since it's a fully modular system, Corsair should be able to ship the exact cables you needed. Good luck!

This cable is required only when you're securing an i9 or HEDT component tightly.
