Regarding specifics, I was considering whether to buy a 3000 or 4000 series. I assumed you’d advise it’s too early to make a strong decision, even if the difference isn’t huge. This wasn’t a question, but I understand people often share advice on non-questions. If someone like to suggest an alternative path—such as choosing X570 over B550 for 3600—I’d be happy to record their thoughts.
If they don't release new chipsets, then when discussing CPUs, B550 boards can match the capabilities of X570. The differences lie in features rather than performance. Because each board offers a unique connectivity setup and design even with the same chipset, choosing between B550 and X570 is no longer about which is better overall. In fact, B550 serves as a successor to X470, whereas X570 stands out for its focus on PCIe 4.0 technology.

I find it hard to believe the B550 is truly the superior choice. It seems like a straightforward option, but the X570 offers better PCI-e 4.0 support and more lines from the chipset. For a typical X570 board, these upgrades come at a higher cost without significant extra benefits. I think if many people are planning to build around the same time as me, B550 boards could become popular—possibly even run out of stock. November is Black Friday and Cyber Monday, so timing might play a role.
This was something I quietly hoped wouldn't happen. Given the late October announcement of the Ryzen 4000, I don't think new chipset releases will officially launch until at least December—after my build schedule. Still, it might lower prices for B550 and X570, which would be a welcome change. That aligns with what I've observed so far. So I'm thinking the high-end B550 is exactly what I'm aiming for instead of settling for a low-end or mid-range X570 at similar cost.
