X570 or B550 Mainboard
That sounds like the way to go, correct? Your feedback is appreciated. I’m leaning toward the B550 mainboard—it really stands out in most areas except for the sheer number of connections and ports. The design in the aesthetic compartment is especially impressive.
B450 with Zen3 is essentially a beta version and many issues exist. I think it’s time for a new board. The key difference between B550 and X570 is that X570 supports 2 m.2 at 4.0 speed. Most users should save money and opt for the B550. At comparable prices, B550 boards tend to be of higher quality. Although they look alike, the B550 model appears more appealing and is newer—agree with others. If you can find a B550 Tomahawk at similar rates, go for it. If you plan to upgrade to 5900x/5950x later, choose the top recommendation: a Strix B550-f gaming. It’s a major improvement.
I'm holding off on DDR5 Zen4 until it arrives. Right now I'm enjoying B450 and 2700X with 2060 at 4K resolution. My SSDs already deliver their promised speeds, so PCIE 4.0 seemed unnecessary. If I want even quicker drives, that's probably what I need.
Sorry for the delayed reply; I haven’t been active here much. Your suggestion looks like a much stronger option.
They're still fading from my memory. Upgrading might be the next step, but my four cores are wearing thin. The SSD is blazing at full capacity too—970 EVO Plus included. PCIe 4.0 could become a solid choice later when we hit faster SSDs. For now, Gen 3 should work just fine.
