I gathered the component list for my initial PC build on PCPartPicker and chose the X570 over the B450 since I’m not confident updating the BIOS for a motherboard. After removing the MSI Tomahawk from my selection, I noticed a warning about an extra 4-pin power connector on the new X570 that isn’t compatible with my PSU. Should I run without the matching cable or replace my power supply? Thanks in advance!

consider focusing more on the PSU choice and opting for one with dual 8-pin CPU power ports. I’m aware the RM850x and v2 RM750x already offer this, while higher-end models typically do. A good PSU isn’t just a budget cut—it usually lasts longer than other components in your setup.
It's not just promotional fluff. Adding the extra power supply stabilizes the CPU input at +12v, which reduces fluctuations in voltage core stability.
It does nothing, though perhaps using a 16-core processor in liquid nitrogen could help, while an 8-pin connector might already provide around 480W of power.
