Hey there, thanks for reaching out. I've got a few points to clarify about your setup. Your Ryzen 5 2600 is a 2nd generation processor, while the Asus Tuf X570-PLUS WIFI supports CPUs from the 3rd generation onward, including Zen+ and Zen 3. The manual you found seems to suggest compatibility only with integrated graphics, but it doesn't explicitly cover the 2nd generation Ryzen. PCpartpicker and System Builder didn’t flag any issues, so it looks like the board might still work. Just double-check the exact model number and ensure your motherboard supports 2nd generation Ryzen CPUs. TL;DR: You should be good to go, but confirm the board specs. Thanks!
They're assigning APUs by generation for clarity. Zen 3 is the newest, Zen 2 is third, Zen+ is second, and Zen is first. Each line is being labeled separately because the numbering system feels confusing. The 3000 series APUs are Zen+, while the CPUs in that line are Zen 2. Likewise, the 2000 series uses Zen APUs and Zen+ CPUs. The X570 can work with all Ryzen chips, and future Zen support may need a BIOS update unless the board is already up to date.
They were exclusively laptop-based. Zen (1000) - Gen 1 Zen+ (2000) - Gen "2" Zen2 (3000) - Gen 3 Zen3 (5000) - Gen 4. Mostly OEM models, with some third-party options or bundles available from certain retailers.
