The VRMs are identical across these boards. The main distinctions lie in the color, additional USB and M.2 ports, and the overall design, making the B450 a better choice compared to the X470 when paired with a 3600.

The B450 Tomahawk is often out of stock when I look, but the X470 Gaming Plus MAX seems to list the same specs—likely the Ryzen 3000. Checking Newegg at 120 shows no major discrepancies, so it probably won’t affect anything.

Apologies for missing your message. You mentioned the 4th generation, right? It’s for my brother's PC—it won’t get upgraded for another five years. He keeps using the existing hardware, so it will become a brand-new system eventually.

I believe the Ryzen 4th generation will make a solid upgrade, but in five years it's hard to predict what will come next. Plus, DDR5 might become the norm soon—someone upgraded from a 3570k on their birthday, so it seems like a long time before he gets something new. Thanks for the update!
