X3430 Xeon PC construction plan
I'm putting together a PC build and already have the CPU, RAM, and motherboard for $52.50. The motherboard hasn't been confirmed yet, so I'm looking into compatible options.
The memory was about the x series generally. There weren’t many consumer boards available. There were far more CPUs than boards to install them on. The GPU might be even more challenging. You’d need a video card too, which has become an issue.
my dad's prescription is an RX 560, he also has a dead R9 390 graphics card, i'm thinking about trying to restore it because it's already gone, so i'm mainly concerned about the mainboard overall.
Chip was located in Lynnfield, LGA1156. Possibly socket H or H1? Not certain. It wasn’t very high in gigahertz by today’s standards. Still had a lot of cache. Here’s a list of motherboards that should work with it. It’s longer than I expected. Some might be rare or hard to find. I remember 1156 boards often had issues. https://www.cpu-upgrade.com/CPUs/Intel/X...oards.html
