You're working on Linux Mint with a messed-up folder, and you need to add a text file while fixing the structure. You can use `echo` or `touch` commands to create or modify files, then navigate to the right directory. Make sure to clean up any corrupted parts before proceeding.

These files or folders are damaged and need fixing. There’s no shortcut other than restoring the affected area, cleaning up the corruption, and rebuilding them properly.

You're asking about the nature of a file system issue. Specifically, you want to know which filesystem is involved, what led to its corruption, any permission settings, and whether the mount point is read-only.

Execute fsck on the live CD for that partition.

You seem to have missed the part where they said "intentionally" corrupted, so fixing it is clearly not the intent. My guess would be the only way to write to it would be at a low-level with a hex editor, but I don't think there is any way to do it where its easily read back. Its rather confusing seeing as we have no context of WHY it was intentionally corrupted in the first place.
