My HTPC setup has the board positioned on its back, allowing the intake fan to sit right over the CPU fan. This setup gives solid cooling performance. I'm using a 120mm Delta Electronics fan, which is rated at 1.6A and needs to be controlled by a fan controller. It's about as noisy as the older Tornado fans from earlier times XD.
