If ASUS patches its router and updates it, an attacker would still be able to perform a Krack attack on the regular network using patched devices. However, on the guest network for unpatched devices, the attack would not succeed.
he could apply the KRACK to the gadgets that haven’t received updates since they’re linked to your router with either the latest fix or an outdated one. once updated, he can connect via SSH at the kernel level and carry out his actions. the effectiveness depends on all connected devices. i’ve switched to unpatched devices when necessary and reviewed my router logs to confirm no issues occurred through that device.
