WoW or eso?
You can contribute a bit by purchasing a token valid for one month of gameplay. Each token equals 50,000 gold. I haven't played since Mists of Pandaria, so I'm only back from the two expansions. However, I've got friends who play and they just sell everything, use auction houses to earn money, and then use that cash to cover their subscriptions.
Gold plays a limited role in WoW compared to other items. While you can improve gear through dungeons and alliance content, vendors often offer better options. Horses remain uniform, making gold less valuable except during certain updates. Prices tend to shift based on availability and market needs.
Likely, I haven't played much before those tokens appeared. Probably just relying on a server economy. A busy, high-traffic server offers them at lower costs than a low-traffic one—just like everything else in WOW. I used to be really into the auction house. I cheated by botting into high or low-level items that most people didn’t notice the advantage in. I let the bot rest and kept it appearing human enough so I avoided getting caught.
Awesome win! They’re spot on about the titles being quite different. I’d suggest giving the free trial a go to see if it suits you. I’ve been playing almost all the time since the base game (without any expansions) and I can confidently say it’s worth the investment compared to the fun. You can finance it monthly using in-game gold, which becomes more accessible once you’re diving into exclusive endgame content—but don’t rely on it for the initial months. Give it a try and share your thoughts!
