What do you think about World of Warcraft Legion? Would you play, and were you in the beta?

I tried the beta and ranked 1 in the world for Raid gear after progression. It reached top 150 finishes in nearly every Mythic fight. Legion seems stable, though not significantly better than WOD. It offers improved quests and features, but it can feel repetitive. You’ll likely enjoy the first couple months like everyone did with WOD, then interest will fade if you’re casual. Raiding is decent, but most encounters need more adjustments (Queen Eli doesn’t work well in beta). PVP feels flat, even with updates, and looks unexciting compared to the old version. Leveling feels engaging but only provides enjoyment for a short time before it matches WOD. I’d give Legion a 7 out of 10 right now. WOD started at 6/10, fell to 2/10 after the second raid. HFC was a solid raid, but there was little content for others and the story was cut too much. WOD focused on what was removed, and it seems they’re cutting back on some narrative elements like Voice readings, comic strips, and books.

It's a fun thought! Would this update bring back the feel of WOW during TBC? I remember playing WOD too, but it lost its excitement by the end. Bringing back TBC sounds like a smart move.

The pre-release version is already available, allowing you to try out class playstyles immediately. By the time the main update arrives, there should be only minor adjustments rather than major overhauls. By then, the game will have shifted significantly. Personally, I think the game has been heavily altered—starting in Cata and worsening with each expansion. The current state is overly centered on end-game content, pushing away other popular playstyles like BG twinking. This has led to a decline in the social experience that once kept players engaged during downtimes between raids and seasons. Along with this, the absence of the traditional guild system has made group content feel generic and less impactful. Overall, it’s not a complete disaster compared to other titles, but it no longer offers the unique charm that made it special.

It won’t bring back the original experience. The memories you cherish—playing with friends, working through grinding, and having fun—will remain yours. Attempting to relive that excitement is unlikely, as the game has changed. Still, you can appreciate it as it is now. Most classes are designed to be straightforward. You can add intricate rotations, talent options, and detailed artifact tree selections, though they generally stay within a narrow range. The gap between top and bottom players has narrowed, which is concerning because despite your efforts and skill, you’re increasingly constrained by the developers.

It's nice to remember when finding good gear was a challenge, isn't it?

I've been feeling a bit disconnected from the game lately and am considering taking a step back. I'll need some time to think about it further.

I don't focus on PVE, but for PVP I'd prefer to skip it.
